Record Tourism Accreditations Give Operators A Winter Confidence Signal

A record number of Sunshine Coast operators have cleared this year's round of state tourism accreditation, in a result industry bodies are framing as a meaningful confidence signal heading into the winter trading window.

Accreditation covers operational basics most visitors never see: insurance, safety planning, sustainability commitments and customer service standards. Strong uptake suggests the region's operator base is investing in the back office at the same time it is competing for discretionary holiday spend.

Tour, accommodation and experience operators all featured in this year's intake, with notable growth in nature-based and food tourism categories. Industry groups argue that the standard is now functioning less as a marketing badge and more as a baseline requirement for distribution through major booking platforms.

The next test arrives quickly. Winter school holidays and the festival calendar across June and July will show whether accreditation translates into the repeat bookings and word-of-mouth the sector needs to offset softer interstate travel.
