Noosa Food and Wine opens on Thursday for a four-day run that has become one of the most closely watched events on the Sunshine Coast winter calendar. The festival village in Lions Park anchors a program of long lunches, masterclasses and producer showcases that spill out across Hastings Street venues.

Local operators say the festival now functions as a barometer for the broader winter trade. Strong attendance flows through to accommodation, restaurants and tour bookings well beyond the festival weekend, while a soft turnout is felt quickly in shoulder-season rosters.

This year's line-up leans on a mix of national names and Queensland producers, with seafood, native ingredients and lower-alcohol drinks given more space than in previous editions. Several events have already sold out, and walk-up tickets for the village remain the most flexible option for casual visitors.

Transport and parking are the perennial pressure point. Organisers are again pushing the park-and-ride service from Noosa Junction, and council has reminded visitors that Hastings Street access tightens significantly across the weekend.
