There is no shortage of event listings on the Sunshine Coast. What there is a shortage of is a calendar that feels written by someone who actually lives here and would happily go to half the things on it.

Our weekend events guide is built on a few simple rules. We try to mix the obvious with the under-the-radar. We pay attention to the hinterland as well as the coast. And we are honest when a quiet weekend is just a quiet weekend, because pretending otherwise wastes everyone's time.

Each Friday the TSCB Desk will publish a curated rundown of what we think is worth your attention over the next few days. Expect markets, music, community gatherings, sport and the occasional one-off that does not fit any of those boxes.
